An Honest Note About Shopify in 2026
Shopify is a powerful platform and we build real Shopify stores for clients who genuinely need what Shopify offers. We also want to be honest with you about what Shopify is and isn't in our shop's 2026 workflow.
Where Shopify shines:

The trade-offs we'll be direct about:
Our AI product suite does not integrate into Shopify's sandbox.
DraftDash content publishing, Catori SEO passes, Vigil compliance auditing, MOG operational oversight, Thea content strategy, and Ethel voice, none of those can reach inside Shopify the way they reach inside WordPress or our Forged Sites. Shopify is a closed environment by design, and we respect it as that, but it means your Shopify store lives outside our AI stack.
Subfolder versus subdomain architecture matters more than it used to.
You can attach a blog or landing-page site to a Shopify store as a subdomain (blog.yoursite.com), but you cannot run it as a subfolder (yoursite.com/blog/). In the era of AI search and domain-authority-weighted ranking, subfolders pass topical authority through your main domain where subdomains largely don't. For a serious content strategy, that's a real architectural limitation.
Platform pivots are accelerating.
Shopify (like Wix and Squarespace) is pivoting its UX/UI to incorporate AI features of their own. That's not bad, but it means the platform foundations under your store are shifting. We stay calibrated to Shopify's current state when we work on it, but we've chosen to invest our deep build expertise in our own stack rather than chase their pivots.

All packages require a half down deposit and half due before the launch of the website. Hosting fees for the sites will also be required at the start of the project at the hosting level only. Should you opt out of utilizing our SEO plan or any of our higher tier offerings, please note that we will only install an SEO tool and will not conduct any further Search Engine Optimization.

Custom code that approximates what a true plugin would do
Using Shopify's supported code-injection points, we can usually build the functionality as custom code customizing around the platform. We'll be direct that Shopify's official App marketplace is gated to their vetted partners, so we can't ship an official Shopify App, but we can usually approximate plugin-like behavior as custom code. Expect this work to take longer than equivalent plugin work on WordPress because we're working around Shopify's architecture rather than with its ecosystem.
Migration TO Shopify
If you've decided Shopify is the right path for your business, we'll handle the migration end to end.
Hourly rate for one-off fixes and improvements to existing Shopify stores: $125/hour
Most site issues resolve within 30 to 90 minutes. We'll estimate scope before starting.
